CHARITY LASHAI

Charity Lashai is redefining what it means to use creativity in life and ministry. For over 25 years she has shared her many gifts across the nation, to uplift others and to spread a message of faith hope and love. Whether storytelling through mime and dramatic presentations, or inspiring others through dance, fashion, and her lifestyle choices, Charity has continued to stay true to herself and the God she serves. Her relatable life experiences allow others to see hope and triumph in their own story. Teens and adults all over the world can learn how stepping out of the box can transform their world and Charity is leading by example.

At a young age Charity became a product of divorced parents. As the middle child she learned early to use her imagination and resources to create a world that would inspire herself. She was an avid reader, took sewing classes, created a craft club, ran track, became a competitive cheerleader, and sang with her older sister at her local church. Indulging in creativity became what was necessary for her to escape what was at times a strained and painful environment.

As a pre-teen, Charity battled with being unheard. She experienced being bullied by an adult which caused her to harbor anger and become silent. It was during this time that she was introduced to mime. In the mid 90’s this was a new art form used in ministry and she enjoyed the fact that she could express herself even in moments when her voice seemed lost. Learning the art of mime was a game changer. Like most fine arts, mime opened the door to other avenues in ministry, business, and social networks; developed character accountability; but most importantly taught her how to express herself in a healthy way.

Charity has had the honor of sharing her gifts around the nation at churches, conferences, weddings, and an array of other events. She is excited to now branch out as an author, speaker, teacher, and mentor, by sharing creative avenues of intercession, while engaging in creative art’s uncommon forms.

Charity’s new book series, Express Yourself, shares the importance of using your creativity to express yourself using artistic expression in intercession, life, and the kingdom. The series includes a prayer journal for pre-teens, teens, and adults. Express Yourself will allow creatives around the world to learn, create, and share through workshops and online courses, as well as engaging through outreach. Charity most recently served at her local church, in Oklahoma City, as one of the Fine Arts Directors, but recently transitioned to the city of Austin, TX to expand her ministry. With many endeavors to come, she looks forward to making a continued impact, both locally and abroad, for the Kingdom.
